Man's Best Friend is in
style with his specialized doggie coat.
Stylized coats are not just for the ladies. Here is a
biker coat I made for a small male Yorkie. The whole family is into Harley Davidson motorcycles and they
wanted a "designer jacket" for their dog to go with their lifestyle.
I used the same Butterick pattern 4226 to make this biker
jacket.

It took less
than a half yard of soft vinyl and I made it in a couple hours. It's important to use a heavy needle in your
machine that will stand up to the vinyl and denim. I used a leather needle and it worked very well.
Phoebe was kind enough to model the coat for us since it's a
gift.

Because bikers not only wear their leather
jackets when out riding, they also love their denim jackets. So, instead of making two different coats, I made this
one reversable.

Here, Phoebe is wearing the coat with the denim side out. Either
way, the coat is warm and comfortable for the dog.

This was such a fun project and the dog owner was thrilled with the
coat.
