Changing Your Decor With The Seasns is Easy With Table
Runners
Being able to sew gives you a sense of freedom when it comes to making
items for your home. You can change your decor with the seasons and always keep your home fresh.
One easy way to change out your dining room table is by making a table
runner. For Halloween, I made a table runner in orange pumpkin fabric. It's very easy to
make.

1. Measure the length of your table plus how far you want the runner to hang on each end. So, if you want
the runer to hang 6" on each end, that means you add 12" to the length of the fabric.
2. Cut the width of the fabric to your desired width.
3. If you have a serger, you can finish all 4 edges with either a bound seam or a rolled hem--as you see in this
picture. Once you finish all the way around, you're done. Press it out and put it on your table.
4. If you are making it with a regular sewing machine, iron under 1/4" on
one side, then turn the fabric under another 1/4'. Sew the hem using a straight stitch. Repeat
this on all 4 sides of the fabric.
5. You're done!
The best part is looking at your room and saying, "I made that!"
Enjoy!
