Change Your Dining Room With
The Seasons
With
Easy-To-Sew Chair Back Covers
Being able to change
out your decor with the seasons is very easy with dining chair
back covers. These are simple "sleeves" that fit right
over the back of your chairs.
Here's how to make
them work:
-
Measure the height and width of the back of the
chairs you wish to cover. Don't forget to
measure the depth on each side, because you will
need the little bit of extra fabric for the width
to accommodate the sides.
-
Add one inch to the length and width of the fabric
to allow for 1/2" seams.
-
Lay your fabric out with the fold towards you.
-
Measure the width of the fabric at the fold.
-
Measure the length from the fold to the desired
length (the fold will be at the top of your chair).
-
Cut the fabric to the desired dimensions--including
the 1/2 inch for
the seams on
each width side and length.
-
With either a sewing maching or serger, sew down
each side 1/2" crating a sleeve. The fold
should be at the top of the sleeve.
-
-
Press it out and slide the sleeve on the back of
your chair.
-
If you like, you can make a chair tie to tie around
the chair.
Very easy, very fast, and very
pretty!
